除特殊情况外,一般原则是同一个句子中时态要统一,所以建议使用过去时态.

特殊情况就是时态必须不一致的情况，否则会影响句子含义。例如
I know he was a teacher.
我知道他过去是老师。意思就是说他现在已经不是老师了,所以不能说 he is a teacher。
I didn't know he is a teacher.
我以前不知道他是老师。意思是我以前不知道，现在知道了。而他一直都是老师。
除了这些特殊情况，就是时态会影响句子含义的情况，一般都要求时态一致。
你的情况是，时态不影响含义，所以不是特殊情况，应该一致。
