"A Rose for Emily" evokes the terms Southern gothic and grotesque, two types of literature in which the general tone is one of gloom, terror, and understated violence. The story is Faulkner’s best example of these forms because it contains unimaginably dark images; And show out the nouthen nobility's downfallen and decayed history, all the book is full in grotesque and gothic.
"The Loons" show out the one tragic fate of an Indian, used high artistic expression, fresh and pretty language, the true feelings description to show out the Indian that lived in social edge. The tragic ends make many readers sympathy.
