Seemingly simple...possible?
Hi I am trying to implement a seemingly simple query thats proving a hard nut.I have a cube that stores Annual Salaries of Staff in various departments. It does store other criteria too,but I would limit myself to this. Now I have a requirement to show maximum and minium salaries in each department,in the following format:Dept XYZ Max Sal Min SalaryAs you could see,Staff details are not to be shown.I tried conditions, subsequently hiding the employee.Getting the Max Sal or the Min Sal separately is not an issue, but I don't seem to be able to show them together.I understand conditions are acting one over the other and not in an 'OR' logic.Any ideas?does the Bex Querying logic permit these kind of queries? Thanks in advanceRegdsJD

Hello JD,I faced a similar question some days ago where I had to report maximum, minimum, average values of each day in quality mangement. So I think there is hope for you to solve the issue with the functionality of BEx.Create two calculated key figures, one for the minimum, the other for the maximum value. In "properties" of the CKF choose "Enhance".Then set "Exception Aggregation" to "Minimum" ("Maximum") and set "Reference Characteristic for Exception Aggregation" to "Department".Best RegardsJuergen

Don't see how you could do this in BEx... unless you have 2 separate queries in a workbook (one for maximum salaries and one for minimum salaries) which you then combine via Visual Basic?!cheers,El Be...
