More than once have heard the stories about passers-by being robbed of their property, more than once have learnt the cases of strangers asking for help desperately yet turning to be robbers and thievies and swindling the kind-hearted people. The serious lesson we got is that never be too cautious meeting strangers, not to mention lending a helping to a stranger. Our families always warn us against the likely danger of that. But what if the strangers are really in dire need of help ? Should we aid them or not ? It seems that trust between people in a society is really at stake. Whatever, in my opinion, we shouldn’t stand by when others turn to you for help, instead, we should give them a warm hand.
If we think about this diallema in the perspective of those strangers who know barely nothing about our city, then we will be more than willing to reach out our hands to them, because in the bottom of our hearts there is a warm picture in which we ourselves were helped by those unknown but sincere and warm hearted people. We could also be in trouble someday in the future and may feel anxious when there’s no one familiar there to help us. I think it’s high time to rebuil our true trust between each other. Having been confined to the modern life style for too long a time,we may have been too cynical towards reality and been too contemptous towards the good sides in the society. Indeed, there iare crimes happening and there indeed are some ill-meant people who are intended to deceive people by pretending to be strangers in trouble. However, just as darkness struggles for survival in a small corner when the sunlight is shining almost everywhere, goodness and kindness pervade throughout everywhere, swindles and cheats and robbery are rare cases compared with the countless good deeds of warmheartedness. We should have faith in everyone around us including those strangers.It’s highly likely that strangers today may get acquianted and become friends tomorrow after you have helped him or her. A Chinese proverb goes like this , ” Help others only by giving him a little drop of water, and someday he will surely return the kindness by a crystal stream of brook to you” That’s definitely right . Kindness is a human nature born with everyone. If you do something when strangers ask you for help, you will certainly make something different in his or her life , and more importantly , in your life. It makes sense that never be too cautious. That is , we ought to have a general and clear picture of what we could do to help them and what we should do if we couldn’t help. Sometimes, it’s a good way to suggest strangers asking the police for help when you have some suspicion towards the situation.
Don’t look on with folded arms if you really can make a difference . To build a harmonious world , we need to help others including the strangers .
