Why does an ice cube float?
Water has three different shapes with fluid,solid and steam.When we freeze water with a temperature below zero,water can be changed into ice.It is turned into a solid form.But during the process of freezing,there will be some air coming into the water and making an ice cube which is much bigger than it in a fluid form.Therefore,an ice cube is much bigger than water in size.That is why you can see a bottle of water will break up the bottle when the water is frozen into ice.Finally,just because the ice cube is much bigger than the water with the same weight,then,it can float on the surface of the water.
