为什么第一个用living,第二个用live?老师说第二个是一般现在时,可我听不懂.谁能帮我解释一下?

前半句,there 形式主语,are 谓语.living 是做状语说明old people 状态.后半句,many families with young children 主语,live做谓语,所以要用动词了.时态是一般现在时.如果是过去时就用lived.
