The Earth's atmosphere functions much like a giant greenhouse,admitting sunlight between outer space but preventing heat from escaping.这句话between 和 but 都划线了,为什么答案是说between错了?那应该怎么改?不能把but改成and?

把between改为from,意思是来自外太空的光照
but改为meanwhile,意思更好理解

大气层吸收光线只能“从(from)"外太空，不能用between。
