Hundreds of ...是“数以百计”的意思
这题选B 的概念是不过是个确数,就是说这家工厂有 400 人来自乡下（农村）.
之所以不能选 A 是 hundreds of 后面直接加 worker 不需要冠词 the

这里并不是说成百上千的工人来自乡村，而是想说这个工厂里的400个工人是来自乡村的
这种题一般比较坑爹不会经常考，LZ说的那两种情况是比较常见的
就是因为特指那一堆工人之中的400人所以要加the
