大部分情况下都可以通用,只是as the result of有强调结果本身的意思（可以解释为“就是因为.”）,而as a result of一般不强调,只是翻译成“因为.".
至于down by the sea,意思是沿海而下.

准确的说as the result of是作为......的结果的意思，也可以翻译成因为，所以我说是强调结果。 e.g. An amount lost as the result of leaking.（由渗漏而导致的损失总量） 对了，补充一句，at the result of不是词组，意为对......的结果。 e.g. We are surprised at the result of the experiment.

这里是at the result of，我已经说了不是词组了，这里at the result of the examination意思是“对这个考试结果”，整句意思是“Rose对这个考试结果欣喜若狂”，这里不是个词组，我刚刚说的是as the result of，不是at，不要搞混了。
