to be是不定式,在不定式前面加not表示否定
没有try to be not这种说法
not try to be表示不要尝试做某事,而原句I will try not to be late for class意思是：我会尝试不要上学迟到

try not to do sth.尽力不做某事。
I will try not to be late for class.我将尽力不迟到。

不定式的否定形式通常是在to前加not而不需助动词.
