Cave paintings
Long ago people spent almost all their time hunting for food. They didn’t have time for painting. But after many thousands of years perhaps a million years or more they became very good at finding food. They had a little time for doing other things, such as going hiking and going fishing for fun. A few people began to paint on the walls of the caves where they lived. They painted animals, because animals were the most important things in their lives. They could get food from animals, and skins of animals could keep them warm.
The early people painted for many reasons. Perhaps thy wanted to make their caves more beautiful and colorful; perhaps they thought painting could show their special ideas; perhaps they just enjoyed painting. Thy often drew animals being caught. Perhaps they hoped that by drawing the animals, they would make them really appear.
People have discovered cave paintings in many parts of the world. The earliest that we know about are in Europe. In cold weather the people long ago lived in caves to keep warm. Now many people study cave paintings and lives of these early people.

4. Don’t answer too much.
With lots of idea available, you may want to write too much. Remember that more is not always better. Use simple and thoughtful words to answer the questions. Your answer had better make good use of supporting evidence.
