应该是跟we变化,因为we是它的主语,这是一个定语从句,the man suddenly stopped and looked as if to see whether he was going in the right direction
这是主句.（we followed 是定语从句）
我们跟着的这个人突然停了下来张望,似乎是看看自己是否走对路了
