that代离它较远的something ,不定代词something作主语时,谓语通常用单数.they 代离它较近的someone .不定代词someone作主语时,后面通常用they代替它.
Something is wrong,isn't it?

that在这里应该是引导一个同位语，修饰something和someone，后面是一个原因状语，they应该是一个形主，指代something 和someone

第一个是因为主谓一致的就近原则.所以用的is,而后面代指的是something, someone,所以用they.
不能这样改咯。而且it help 有语法错。

必须删掉that，不然这句话就没有动词了。
要不就是这不是完整的一句话，应该是对某个词的解释吧。如果这样的话that就是定语从句的引导词，而且又是定语从句的主语，就不能删，要不就把that is全部删掉，就变成后置定语了。
应该用they和it都可以，但是如果用it就应该是it helps you succeed or deals with problems。...
