定语从句关系副词使用的问题You let me learn the basics in the kitchen,and

1) i was on my own 是定语从句修饰先行词 time,关系副词 when 可以省略.
2) it 不是横空出来的,it 是主语；kept 是谓语,是keep的过去时,所以不应该用keeping这个非谓语形式；keep sb. from doing sth. 是固定搭配,意思是：使免于；during the time i was on my own是时间状语,而时间状语里面又带有一个定语从句.
3）这句话是将时间状语放在句首了.如果将状语放在句末就很容易看懂了：You let me learn the basics in the kitchen, and it kept me from going hungry during the time i was on my own.
