1 giving them advice and offering their own opinions都是write letters to their favorites的下级结构,这2个是平行的,而sometimes copy them看清楚,用的是copy用的是动词原形,说明这个copy是和write letters一个层级上的结构,所以前面也要加上and
2 在这里指的是写信写了什么,分词结构做补语,补充说明写信给他们做什么

两个“，”中间的giving~~~~~opinions 是用来修饰“wtite letter”这件事情的 也就是说他写信给 favorites 是为了给他们提出建议advice和个人意见own opinoins 。 你说的“and sometimes copying them.”这里的copy一词时态和用法和前面的giving，offering...
