space指太空时不能加冠词,如in space,加定冠词意思就变了,in the space是在...空间里.当knowledge指一个人对某一具体事物或具体学科的知识时,可以与不定冠词a连用（不管有无定语）
如：He has an wide knowldge of history.
当knowledge泛泛地指知识的时候,它是个不可数名词,不能与不定冠词a连用
如：Knowledge is power.

这里的space不可数 前面不加the
后面的a不是修饰knowledge而是修饰the universe
knowledge是不可数名词 ：知识（熟话说学无止境 也说明知识不可数）
