按照所给选项,只能选B.
as much as在这里【表示程度】,翻译为【（在程度上）也一样】.
to the farmer ( ) to the professor
=belongs to the farmer (.as much as ) to the professor
字面意思就是：
属于农民的程度和属于教授的程度一样
加工翻译就是：
属于教授,也一样属于农民.

much用来修饰动词belong 意思是
语言既属于农民也属于教授（两者没有区别）。AC两个选项则没有这个意思

理解为：语言对于农民和教授来说都一样，都属于他们，much 是程度
另外A，C 都是明显可以排除的，意思上说不过去
