Being clear about the prepositions’evolution of this phase can provide important clues for tracing ancient Chinese prepositions, and for inferring modern Chinese prepositions.
This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the preface, expounding the current situation of preposition research in the Six Literatures,research situation in Middle Chinese on object prepositions, research method of this paper, research content and the identification standard and classification of the object prepositions.The second chapter is a about the comparative study on the object prepositions’ research in the Six Literatures,in which the object prepositions were divided into 4 types as Introducing illocutionary prepositions, Stiff prepositions, With preposition ,and Comparative prepositions.Among which the With Preposition is divided further into the receiving, pointing, and Aiming etc.9 types.At the same time it conducted descriptive statistics in detail.Based on which, the comparison of North and South,of Buddhist Scriptures and Middle Earth Literature, mainly include terms, frequency, syllable, degree of new or old of the words, phrase order, transitive or not.By and large,the colloquial degree of the object prepositions in the Southern Dynasty’s literature and the Buddist Scriptures were higher than that of the Middle-Earth and Northern Dynasty’s literature.But when embodied to various large or samll kinds,they were different either;The third chapter is about the Illocutionary and Stiff Prepositions and Middle Chinese passive, disposal patterns.this chapter mainly talked about related patterns in Six Literatures from the angle of object prepositions; Chapter four is about the monographic study on Middle Chinese object prepositions, including comparasive study on Pointing Preposition,case study on the emerging object prepositions,analysis on the object prepositions adopting from the ancient and the appropriation of the object preposition in ancient Chinese never appeared in the Six Literature.The conclusion, we mainly summarized the related conclusions in Six Literature,and made a general outlook on object prepositions in Middle Chinese.
