Driving and riding,they are two completely different methods of transportation.One represents the modern life and the other the ancient traditions.Many of the people nowadays would automatically prefer driving as it is so common,cheap (comparatively),convenient and fast.Plus,a car is nowhere as messy and annoying as a horse.However,one must consider the environmental costs of driving a car.Burning petrol releases a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere,which will enhance global warming.On the other hand,although riding a horse is slower,harder to learn and the horse requires much more attention (for example,hind-wise); environmentally speaking,it is a lot greener.Being with animals can also train a person's patience and their will to help and care for the others; thus it is good for our mental well being.
Despite the many merits of riding a horse,I think I would still prefer driving a car (preferably on organic fuel) in the cities.This is because it is conventional and that the car is easier to manage and covers great distances more efficiently.But I would not object to riding during the weekend in a farm with a couple of friends either!
