How are you?
I received your letter, and i can understand your confusion. Choosing your future career is indeed a difficult task.
Although i would encourage you to persue your passion, it is beneficial to be realistic sometimes. I am not saying that philosophy is unrealistic, it is a very promising area and most importantly it is your interest and passion, but it is also possible to find a way to combine your passion and your parents’ hope on you.
Maybe your can take a double major, or pursue political science with a minor in finance and management. These are just my suggestions, the ultimate decision is held in your hand.
Whatever you may choose in the end, i hope all the best in your studies in that field.
Just as Steve jobs so famous proclaimed: “life is short, why spend the time living the life of someone else.”
